What are anti-wrinkle injections/Botox/Azzalure/Botulinum Toxin? 

Botox® or Azzalure are the brand names for a prescription medicine which is a protein that works as a muscle relaxant. Apart from its well known aesthetic benefits by relaxing muscles and therefore smoothing out lines and wrinkles, it also has medical benefits, like hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), migraines and bruxism (teeth grinding). 

How does it work? 

Botox works by temporarily blocking the transmission of nerve signals, which normally would communicate to your muscles they should contract. The protein and process relax the muscle which causes the skin to soften and any existing creases to unfold. It can also be used to create a lift, also known as our Injectual Brow Lift

What is the difference between filler and anti-wrinkle treatment? 

The main difference is how both products work. Anti-wrinkle treatment work by reducing lines and wrinkles by temporarily freezing muscles underneath the skin. Dermal filler works by plumping tj Fillers work by plumping up areas of the skin that have lost fullness due to ageing.

When does it start to work and how long do anti-wrinkle injections last? 

On average you’ll start to see and feel results after 4-6 days  (although some people start to see results after 24 hours. The full results are after 14 days, at which point some people might require a top-up. For most people the treatment lasts 3-6 months but this depends on lifestyle, body size, metabolisme etc. 

Will I look fake? 

If you’re a first time user, your main concern is probably whether or not you will look fake because of some horror stories in the press or some celebrities that have gone to an inexperienced or wrong injector. Once I start, do I need to keep getting it? 

This is one of the most common misconceptions about anti-wrinkle treatment. Once you start, you do not have to keep getting the treatment and you won’t end up ‘worse than before the treatment. Most clients are super happy with the results of their treatment so naturally keep returning for their treatment. However if you do decide to stop, the results are not permanent, so after 3-6 months the result will go back to the original state pre-treatment. . 

When should you start getting anti wrinkle injections/Botox? 

Everyone is different, but most people start seeing their first lines in their 20’s or 30’s. By the time you’re in your 40’s and 50’s, you’ll most likely have some static wrinkles. Younger people can use this for more preventative treatments, which is often referred to as ‘Baby Botox’.
