First Timers’ Guide

What to Expect at INJECTUAL

So you’re thinking about getting injectables for the first time. You’ve come to the right place. At INJECTUAL, we combine clinical-level safety with exceptional aesthetic outcomes, and we make sure the entire experience feels seamless, calm and well-supported from start to finish.

This guide explains what happens before your appointment, what to expect when you arrive, what the treatment appointment involves, and how aftercare and recovery work.

Before Your Appointment

Booking

You can book your treatment or consultation in two ways:
Online via our website: www.injectual.com
By phone: speak to our team and book directly

If you’re unsure whether to book a consultation or a treatment, we generally recommend starting with a consultation, especially if it’s your first time. You’ll have the space to discuss options, ask questions, and decide what feels right without pressure.

Deposits and consultations

Treatment appointments require a deposit to secure your slot.
Consultations are complimentary.

Forms and pre-appointment checks

Ahead of your visit, we will send you:
Medical history questionnaire: to make sure treatment is suitable and safe
Pre-appointment checklist: to help you arrive fully prepared

Safety begins before you step through the door, and these steps are part of how we keep your experience clinical, considered and personalised.

Planning around events

If this is your first time, we recommend leaving enough time before major events such as weddings, travel or photos. Mild redness, swelling or bruising can happen, even when everything goes perfectly, and it’s always better to give yourself breathing room.

If you have questions before booking, you can contact us at any time. Our trained professionals are here to reassure you and talk you through your options.

When You Arrive

When you arrive, you’ll check in with reception. If you have any final questions, we’ll happily answer them. You’ll then be invited to relax in our waiting room with a complimentary beverage.

We design the environment to feel calm and discreet, and we keep appointments unhurried so you never feel rushed into decisions.

Your Appointment

Before photos

Your “before” photo will be taken as part of your patient record and to help you track your results over time. It also helps guide future appointments so your progress stays consistent and well planned.

Consultation and treatment planning

You will receive an in-depth consultation with one of our practitioners. This includes a full discussion of what you want to achieve, what treatment options suit you, what results are realistic, and what aftercare looks like.

There is no obligation to proceed. Even if you’ve booked treatment, you can choose to keep the appointment as a consultation if you decide you want more time. Our approach is always guided by what feels right for you.

Comfort and pain management

Before treatment begins, you will be offered comfort options, depending on what you’re having done:
Complimentary numbing cream: optional
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas): optional

We use advanced pain management tools and techniques to keep your experience as comfortable as possible, especially for first-time clients.

Procedure time

Once you’re ready, the treatment itself is typically quick. You can lay back, relax, and enjoy the calm environment. Many clients choose to watch something on our in-room screens while the procedure takes place.

After Your Appointment

Once treatment is complete, we’ll take “after” photos, then we’ll talk you through what to expect in the hours and days ahead.

Aftercare advice

You will receive clear aftercare instructions in clinic, and we will also email them to you so you can refer back easily at home. You can also find them here

Recovery room

You’ll then be taken to our post-treatment recovery room where you can relax for as long as you like.

The recovery room includes complimentary LED light therapy. Many clients find it helps with post-treatment recovery, including any bruising, swelling or redness, and it’s also a great way to unwind before you leave.

Ongoing support

Our care doesn’t end when you walk out the door. If you have questions after your appointment, we’re available via phone, email and WhatsApp. Whether you want reassurance, guidance on aftercare, or advice on what to do next, we’re here.

A note for first-timers

First-time injectable appointments can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to have questions. Our role is to make sure you feel informed, supported, and confident in every decision you make.

If you’d like to book, you can do so online or by phone. If you’d like to talk through your options first, we’re happy to guide you.

Botox/anti-wrinkle treatment works by relaxing the muscle in the treated area, resulting in smooth-wrinkle free skin. It is ideal for treating fine lines and wrinkles in the skin. Dermal fillers are injected into the facial skin layer to plump and restore volume in the treated area. Filler on average lasts longer than anti-wrinkle injection injections.

This will depend on a lot of factors, like genetics, exercise, diet and most importantly which treatment you receive. Read how often each treatment needs to be topped up HERE.

While injectables have a slight level of discomfort, it’s no worse than getting a quick prick. Our state-of-the-art pain management techniques, like numbing cream and nitrous oxide, will make it as comfortable as injectables can be.

Our expert practitioners will go through a consultation with you prior to your treatment to assess your concerns and desired final result. They have all been highly trained to help you best understand what exact procedures will give you the most “you” look. Our top-of-the-line diagnostic tools will also be used to best asses your individual treatments. All our treatments are tailored to each customer because at INJECTUAL, we know that it’s not one-size-fits-all solution.

Yes, you absolutely can get more than one treatment in a session, providing your practitioner has advised that it is safe to do so. NOTE: sometimes your desired aesthetic will take several visits to INJECTUAL to be achieved.

While we are confident you will love your results, yes, injectables are reversible. Every treatment does come with some risks attached, which your practitioners will and should run you through. Dermal filler can get dissolved, with a substance called hyaluronidase, so it is reversible. Botulinum toxin cannot get dissolved but does wear off after 3-6 months.

Yes, at Injectual you must be over 21 to receive injectable treatments.

Before your treatment, please avoid alcohol for 24h before the procedure, as this can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising. Blood-thinners, like Ibuprofen, ginseng and Omega 3, should also be avoided. Make sure you DO have food and drink liquid on the day of your procedure to avoid light headedness.

You can get a facial directly before your treatment, although any procedures like laser or micro-needling should be avoided for at least a week before to ensure the skin is not sensitive. After your treatment, wait at least a week before any facials.

You can get injectables 3 weeks before or after you’ve received a Covid vaccination.

We’re so glad you asked: even before you step into INJECTUAL we want to make sure you’re taken care of. Our customer service team is always available to answer any questions you may have and put you at ease. We like to think that INJECTUAL is more than just a clinic, it’s an immersive experience. We offer the best in pain management techniques, including numbing cream and nitrous oxide. Come in and see for yourself what makes INJECTUAL special.

Try your best to not touch the treated area for 3 hours, avoid heavy lifting and intense physical exercise for at least 24 hours. Avoid excessive amounts of alcohol and sodium as this could lead to swelling. If you do experience some minor swelling, you can apply a cold compress for 15 minutes every hour. Paracetamol can help with any pain management. Be sure to sleep face up if you had a facial procedure. If you require any more assistance or help after your procedure, our expertly trained staff is always on hand to answer your questions and offer medical advice.

It is not advised to get fillers while pregnant or breastfeeding.
