Aftercare Instructions
Aftercare Botox Treatments
- After treatment, it is expected that you will start to see an improvement within 5 to 10 days. For some people this takes longer. The full result will be visible at 14 days post-treatment. Please book your top-up within 2-3 weeks post treatment.
- Small red spots on the skin usually disappear in a few hours. Transient stinging of the skin is normal after injection (10-15 minutes). If bruising is to occur, it usually is apparent at day 2-3 and will typically resolve over 5-10 days, although this is rare. You will not see any effect for around 5 days and the full effect is visible at around 2-3 weeks.
- Should you experience any unexpected side effects or any that concern you, please contact the clinic soon as possible.
What to do after treatment
- In the evening of the treatment you may gently wash your face and use your regular wash and lotions.
- You may gently apply a cool compress to any red or swollen areas for the first 48 hours to help decrease the swelling more quickly. No pressure is to be exerted onto the face. The compress should only be gently placed on the treated areas.
- Remain upright either sitting or standing for at least 6 hours after treatment to avoid uneven distribution of product. Do not sleep with pressure on the face
- You may commence bathing the day after the procedure.
- You may require further treatment to obtain the desired results. You may be offered a follow up appointment for 2-3 weeks after your initial procedure.
- If you are a smoker it may be recommended that you take vitamin C prior to the procedure to assist with healing.
What NOT to do after treatment
- Do not massage the area treated for the first 2 days following treatment. No facials, waxing or massage for the first 2 weeks.
- Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory medication for 24 hours after treatment as this may increase bruising. You may take paracetamol or codeine if you are uncomfortable.
- No strenuous exercise or gardening for at least 24 hours but light exercise such as walking is ok.
- Do not have a sauna, hot tub or go in a tanning booth for 2 weeks after treatment.
- Always wear a broad spectrum, high factor sun protection (Use our Injectual Correcting SPF50+) on the face, neck, décolletage and hands.
What to watch out for after treatment
- You may experience a “heaviness” of the brow, or a different way of your eyelid folding as the muscles settle into the new position. This typically resolves within 2 weeks. True drooping of the eyelid/brow is rare.
- In some cases it may be necessary to add dermal filler to the forehead or temple to get the best results. This additional treatment will be discussed with you at your consultation but is usually due to excessively deep lines or asymmetries in the skull.
- Please ensure you discuss your overall treatment plan with your practitioner as this will enable you to receive the best results from treatment.
- Please contact the clinic if you have any questions or concerns.
AFTER DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT
- Immediately after treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. The area might be a bit bumpy, but this is a normal result of the injection. The filler will integrate within a matter of days with your own tissue. The final result can be judged at 2-3 weeks.
- If you have previously suffered from cold sores, there is an increased risk that the injection could cause another cold sore.
- Should you experience any unexpected side effects or any that concern you, please contact the clinic soon as possible.
- Always wear a broad spectrum, high factor sun protection (Use our Injectual Correcting SPF50+) on the face, neck, décolletage and hands.

1. Keep the treated area clean: Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Avoid harsh or abrasive products that may irritate the skin.
2. Avoid sun exposure: Protect the treated area from direct sunlight and UV exposure. Always wear a broad spectrum, high factor sun protection (Use our Injectual Correcting SPF50+, created for post treatment care) on the face, neck, décolletage and hands, and wear protective clothing or a hat when outdoors.
3. Moisturise: Use a gentle and hydrating moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and promote healing. Avoid products with harsh ingredients or fragrances.

6. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated and promote healing from within.
7. Follow post-treatment recommendations: Your skincare practitioner may provide specific post-treatment recommendations tailored to your skin type and concerns. Follow these instructions carefully for optimal results.

AFTER LASER HAIR REMOVAL

What to do after your treatment and between sessions:
- Apply an ice-pack on the treated area to reduce pain, discomfort, or irritation.

- Wear loose clothes to avoid friction on the treated area for 48 hours.
- Keep the treated area clean and dry for 48 hours.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Use our Injectual Correcting SPF50+ created for post treatment care
What to avoid:
- Expose skin to UV light (sunlight or sunbeds) or self-tan for at least 2 weeks after treatment to minimise darkening of the skin (hyperpigmentation).
- Engage in heat treatments such as spas, steam rooms, and saunas for 7 days.
- Perform excessive scrubbing or apply pressure to the skin for 4-5 days to allow the treated skin to recover and prevent infection.
- Shave the treated area for 72 hours after treatment.

- Engage in activities involving chlorine (e.g., swimming) for 48 hours.

- Scratch the treatment area if blistering or crusting occurs, as this can cause scarring.
- Wax, tweeze, and thread for the complete duration of the treatment course.
AFTER ELECTROLYSIS
Post-Treatment Care Guidelines:
1. Clean Hands, Clean Skin: Bacteria is omnipresent, so refrain from touching the treated area unless you've thoroughly washed your hands. Dirty hands can lead to breakouts.
2. Application of Antibiotic Cream: Use Bacitracin, Polysporin, or any antibiotic cream on the treated area the night of your treatment, three times a day for up to a week. These creams kill bacteria, aiding in faster healing, especially for facial areas.
3. Resist Itching: It's normal for the skin to itch post-treatment due to inflammation. Scratching can introduce bacteria, leading to infections. Consider antihistamines if tempted to scratch, or use Hydrocortisone cream for irritation.
4. Say No to Picking: Picking at scabs can cause permanent scarring. Allow scabs to fall off naturally. Using antibiotic cream for a few days post-treatment can prevent scab formation.
5. Soothe with Cold Compress: Apply a cold compress to the treated area to reduce swelling and inflammation.
6. Alleviate Discomfort: Mix one teaspoon of Epsom salt with warm water and apply with a clean washcloth for ten-minute intervals to alleviate discomfort.
7. Sun Protection: Stay out of the sun post-treatment to prevent hyperpigmentation. Always wear a broad spectrum, high factor sun protection (Use our Injectual Correcting SPF50+ created for post treatment care) on the face, neck, décolletage and hands.
8. Avoid Hot Environments: Stay away from hot tubs, saunas, and pools for the first 48 hours to prevent infection.
9. No Workout: Avoid exercising to prevent sweat-induced infections post-treatment.
10. Wait Before Makeup: Refrain from applying makeup for 24-48 hours post-treatment to prevent infection. Cleanse makeup brushes before reuse.
11. No Shaving: Avoid shaving for 24-48 hours post-treatment to prevent infection and ingrown hairs.
12. Gentle Skin Care: Refrain from using harsh products like perfumes, acne medications, or astringents until the skin is fully healed. Use witch hazel for cleansing.
13. Avoid Tweezing: Tweezing can lead to thicker regrowth, so refrain from it.
14. Stay Consistent: Stick to your electrolysis maintenance schedule. If you can't make an appointment, use alternative hair removal methods. Regular treatments ensure effective results.
